· In what ways does your media product use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media products?
· How does your media product represent particular social groups?
My magazine represents teenager’s lifestyle and antics. My target audience are the general public however it is mainly targets teenagers 16-19 years old; because those are the people who will read a Grime magazine and want to purchase it .Also I thought that it was the right age because it is right in the middle young adults and they are mature and could take my advice or experiences in my magazine and learn from the fallible mistakes conveyed in my magazine. Furthermore, 16-19 years old is the ages were you start making up your mind for what occupation you want to pursue in your life. My Grime magazine targets the adults because it could relate to them due to they can see their favourite Grimestars are in my magazine and they can see what they are up to. Also the trial and tribulations they are going through!
· What kind of media institution might distribute your media product and why?
so if my target audience knows how the music magazine operates then the sales can increase. They know when to purchase the magazine also know when the next issue is going to be produce. Personally, I think subscription plays a very effective role in sales in a music magazine because it updated your audience and informs them on the details of your magazine, without the target audience who is going to increase your sales in your music magazine. Furthermore, music magazine are sold in any local shops or Supermarkets, it’s on the middle shelf because it is out of children eyes range. In addition, so they cannot be indoctrinated to early because some music magazine have sexual related and x-rated images; and that’s not good for a child and there childhood. Additionally, children copy what they see, these images if seen makes them grow up too fast are ruining they childhood.
· Who would be the audience for your media product?
My target audience is for any Grime fan but in range of 12+ and I have adjusted my magazine in respect of my target audience because I have named top Grime artist to get my audience interested in my magazine; also I put question that can be answer my audience so its like I am connecting with my audience and talking to them as a friend. I want Grimenow to convey an amiable message as we are all one and we can learn from each other and also take advice from each other. That’s why I put upcoming artist because they can enlighten the audience on their experiences and what to do and what not to do! In addition, my picture symbolises the materialist society that we live in today were everyone wants the top designers; I done it in this way because my target audience will like to see the designer the Grime artist wear today; and my audience will want to go to the shops and buy the clothes, so Grimenow can give a fashion sense and set new trends aswell advice. Additionally, I think Grimenow addresses the audience effectively, because I want to convey a positive message that the audience can learn and put into action from every issue.
· How did you attract/ address your audience?
My magazine represents teenager’s lifestyle and antics; the audience can see themselves reflected in my music magazine because I put question that can be answer my audience, so its like I am connecting with my audience. I want Grimenow to convey an amiable message; so that what they learn in Grimenow they can take the positives and adjust it into there life’s. So they can become better people and better to society. Also, in Grimenow I highlight the message that we are all one and we can learn from each other fallible mistakes and also take advice from each other. Furthermore, I try to connect with my audience by put upcoming artist and giving them incentives on if you want something in life no matter the circumstances never give up; because quitters never win and winners never quit. In addition, I put upcoming artist because they can enlighten the audience on their experiences and what to do and what not to do! So in that way everyone learns from each other. My background of the image I used in my front cover is bricks so this could be symbolic of the culture of the streets; and how people grow up on the curb, and bricks are hard and people on the streets have an arduous life. In addition, Grime is about rapping and about your experiences and the bricks is implicitly symbolic of the hard life and tragedies people face in their everyday lives on the streets. Furthermore, the text I used was bold so the sentences I used could be seen, I done it this way because Grime Artist have to be bold, tenacious, tumult, loud and full of confidence if they want to get noticed; and burst on to the scene and into the industry and sales millions of records. Furthermore, I used the colours red and black effectively, because they are well known colours that represent evil; however, the message I am reflecting in Grimenow is paradoxical imagery (bad to good). The black could be symbolic of a hard, delinquent, nefarious, anti-social and wrong doing and stuck in the shadows lifestyle; because that’s the only way to make money. To a bright red which could be symbolic of a bright future, and bright shining good doing legitimate lifestyle were the sky is your limit!
· What have you learnt about technologies from the process of constructing this product?
The technology I have learnt in designing the construction of this product is in Indesign I am a novice at working with layers however, I need to work on using Layers effectively. In addition, I have learnt how to crop images and fit it into your frame of work; however, that needs to be improved on because at the beginning when I first started cropping images, I could see the print screened page a bit so I need to work on crop every totally. Additionally, in Abode Photoshop I have learnt how to find where opacity is and I am a novice on using it effectively and finding the right shade. However, I need to know how to use opacity well and effectively, because I either fade too much or fade it inadequately so you cannot see if the image is faded or not. Furthermore, in Indesign I have learnt how to use Layers however, I need to work on using Layers effectively because some times I get mixed up and clicked on the wrong layer which leads to mistakes and wasting valuable time.
· Looking back at your preliminary task, what do you feel you have learnt in the progression from it to the full product?
In my preliminary task I did not improve my front cover or content page; however, I improved my front cover in my music magazine. I have incorporated shapes, bar code and bar into my music magazine front cover; so that it could look better and also so it can portray to my audience I have put varies of shapes and bar code to show professionalism. The challenge that is still left unexplored is creating a front cover and content page on upcoming artists, to show that Grimenow not only wants to get money, but wants to relate to the audience and put there selves in the audiences shoes. Life is a challenge and not everyone does what they want to do! So by putting upcoming artist it is helping establish the upcoming artist and publishing them to the world and to the music industry; and maybe someone can follow them up and maybe they can get seen and burst onto the scene. Grimenow looks after there audience because no matter who you are; everyone in the world will need help sometime or at some point in there life’s.
